Unlike most operations that are performed to cure eye disease, Laser Eye Treatment is only performed on healthy eyes.
At Shandon Street Private Hospital we offer a choice of treatments to best suit your needs an personal preferences:
Combined surgical and laser procedure (est. 1994). A thin flap is created on the eye's surface (cornea) and the exposed tissue is lasered before replacing the flap. Suitable for mild to severe short sight, mild long sight and astigmatism.
The combination of PRK (est. 1988) and Epiflap (est. 1997). The surface of the eye (cornea) is lasered making this a non-invasive procedure. Suitable for mild to moderate short sght and astigmatism.
ICL's (est. 1987): A small lens is placed surgically inside the eye, just behind the cornea. Suitable for very severe short sight, long sight and astigmatism.
Wavefront offers customised analysis and treatment of your eyes. We obtain a unique map of each individual eye along with other tests and tailor make the treatment accordingly. Wavefront analysis is performed as part of your consultation. This treatment offers a benefit over standard LASIK and Epi-LASEK treatments where patients have irregularly shaped corneas which represent about 5% of all candidates.
